Chad has been involved in family businesses since he was very small. He started helping out when I was involved with Hotels and Dinner Theaters, and spent a lot of time learning every role possible when we owned our family restaurant for 7 years while a teenager. He has spent seasons working on Yacht Promenade in his younger days, and has consistently came back to help out when I needed him too.
In between this, he lived in Canada, opening up several bars, restaurants and nightclubs, and also became Regional Director of one of the top ten franchise companies (Vanguard Cleaning..which means the boat should always be spotless!).
Chad, several years ago, became involved with the charter brokerage business as a broker in SailDiveBVI, and in the last 6 months brought us a proposal for an unique, one of a kind online yachting and water activity business that would fit in very well with our current business.
Although not quite ready to go public with our new addition company wise as of yet, I will say that we have spent many months in development and it is progressing nicely. I can give you a teaser
We have built up our yachting business over 15 years, and Chad always wanted to take it over eventually, although his time frame was a couple years away. With no wife nor children for him on the horizon, and the increased workload of developing a new company, I figured there really was no time like the present. Chad joining us, will enable him to focus on one industry (yachting) as opposed to several that he is doing now. It will allow Bazza and I the ability to transition and cycle out of actively crewing the charters in the future, and work on less physical aspects of our businesses.
Chad will be working full time with the company starting November, and with already holding his SCUBA Dive Master certificate, and a Yachtmaster ticket, is eager to "get on with it"- in whatever aspect of the company is needed. Look for him to be on charters around the New Year, and by next spring, he should be captaining most of the actual charters on Promenade, and actively managing all it entails.
Chad, Felix and Lindsey will do a spectacular job, and unlike us, they are WANTING to run a busy schedule over the next few years and indeed, offer charters for 10 months of the year. Great news for our guests!
We have some special rates up for open weeks this calendar year...and I know everyone will be extremely pleased with our charters and crew.
